If you love classic apple fritters, get ready to fall in LOVE with these Apple Fritter Bites. They’re soft, tender, bursting with real apple flavor, and finished with a shiny apple glaze that caramelizes beautifully under the broiler. They’re easier than fried fritters and even more shareable—perfect for holidays, brunch, or anytime you crave a cozy treat.

🍎 Ingredients

For the Apple Fritter Bites

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup no-sugar-added applesauce
  • 1 ½ cups finely diced Honeycrisp apples (about 2 medium apples)

For the Apple Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup + 2 tbsp apple cider or apple juice

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Fritter Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together:
    • Flour
    • Baking powder
    • Salt
    • Cinnamon
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar. Add the egg and whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the vanilla and applesauce.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in the finely diced apples.

2. Shape & Bake

  1. Scoop 1 tablespoon of batter for each fritter, spacing them a few inches apart on the baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and turn your broiler on high.

🍏 3. Make the Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and apple cider/juice until the glaze is pourable and thin.

🔥 4. Glaze & Broil

  1. Brush each warm fritter generously with glaze and allow it to drip down the sides.
  2. Broil for 2–4 minutes, rotating the pan every minute to ensure even caramelization.
⚠️ Watch carefully—glaze can burn quickly!
  3. Remove from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the warm fritters.
  4. Let them sit for about 15 minutes, until the glaze fully sets and hardens.

Enjoy!

These Apple Fritter Bites are best eaten fresh, but they keep well in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in a toaster oven for a warm, caramelized finish.
