Ingredients
Brownie Layer
- 1 (15–18 oz) fudge brownie mix
- Ingredients required for the brownie mix
- 2 (10 oz each) bags mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, halved
Pudding Layer
- 4 cups cold 2% milk
- 2 (3.4 oz each) boxes instant vanilla pudding
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1½ cups Cool Whip, thawed
Topping
- 1½ tubs Cool Whip (from two 8 oz tubs), thawed
- Additional Reese’s halves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Bake the Brownies
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to the package directions.
- Spread into the pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into ¾-inch cubes.
2. Make the Peanut Butter Pudding
- In a large bowl, whisk together:
- Vanilla pudding mixes
- Cold milk
- Peanut butter
- Vanilla extract
- Mix for about 2 minutes, until thick and smooth.
- Gently fold in 1½ cups Cool Whip until the mixture is creamy and airy.
3. Assemble the Trifle
Use a trifle dish or a large clear bowl for the best presentation.
- Add a layer of brownie cubes to the bottom.
- Sprinkle half of the mini Reese’s pieces over the brownies.
- Spread one-third of the pudding mixture on top.
4. Repeat the Layers
- Add another layer of brownies.
- Top with the remaining Reese’s pieces.
- Spread another one-third of the pudding mix.
- Finish with one more layer of brownies and the last third of the pudding.
5. Top & Chill
- Spread the remaining Cool Whip evenly over the top.
- Garnish with extra Reese’s halves, if you like.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors blend and the layers set.
