If you love the bold, savory flavors of a Philly cheesesteak but want something easier to make at home, this casserole is the perfect solution. It’s hearty, cheesy, and comes together with minimal effort—plus, it’s flexible enough to adapt based on what you have in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

How to Make It

1. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

2. Cook the Beef and Vegetables
In a skillet over medium-high heat, start browning the ground beef.
When it’s halfway cooked, add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned and the vegetables begin to soften.

3. Add Flavor
Stir in the minced garlic and seasoned salt. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then drain any excess grease.

4. Assemble the Casserole
Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Layer the provolone cheese slices over the top.

5. Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce.
Pour this mixture evenly over the casserole.

6. Bake
Place in the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and cooked through.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap ground beef for thinly sliced steak for a more traditional flavor
  • Add mushrooms for extra depth
  • Use mozzarella or cheddar if you don’t have provolone
  • Great for using up leftover cooked meat or veggies
